Exploring Africa’s pasts, shaping inclusive futures
A platform for researching African civilizations and their enduring legacies across Africa and the African diaspora

The African Archaeology Hub is a dynamic research center dedicated to investigating African civilizations and advancing innovative scholarship on Africa’s rich and diverse pasts. Through interdisciplinary research, and collaborative partnerships, the Hub fosters inclusive approaches to understanding the histories, knowledge systems, technologies, and cultural traditions that have shaped African societies across time.
Based in the Anthropology Department of Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY), and directed by Dr. Robert T. Nyamushosho, the Hub serves as a vibrant space for research, collaboration, and knowledge exchange among scholars, students, heritage practitioners, and communities across Africa and the African diaspora. By bringing together diverse perspectives and experiences, the Hub seeks to deepen understanding of African civilizations, address contemporary heritage challenges, amplify African voices, and contribute to shaping more equitable and inclusive futures.
